(Burj Al Arab. Taken in June 2009 while we were driving around Jumeira)
“Dreams are made for those who really try…”
(Bee Gees’ Don’t Throw It All Away)
Would you know what’s one of my biggest dreams? One which is not as grand and high as Burj Al Arab in Dubai (the second tallest building in the world), but is one of the most heartwarming childhood desires of my heart. To write a book about my clan, which will begin with a sort of family tree (this page alone will take time to get validated and perfected), including trivial and significant stories about each person. I remember how some information were being transferred by my great grandparents as relayed by their great, great, grandparents and how we continue to preserve these through generations, with the occurrence of new stories. To include things which only a few members of the family know, the scandals, who brought shame and fame to the clan, and hidden fortune (LOL, I’m just trying to humour all of you of course! Don’t take that part too seriously, haha.). To get the book (privately) published and for distribution to selected family members only.
This is my entry to Little Ms. Firefly’s Final Anniversary Giveaway.
I’m also holding a contest. Thanks to those who have already submitted their entries to my birthday/blogoversary contest. You may still send your entry until July 19, 2009, Sunday.

That’s a nice dream! I remember wanting to write our clan’s very own family tree too when I was young (minus the scandals lang nga ahihi!).
I’m heading over to that birthday giveaway right now!
Hahaha, talaga jo? Hmmm, parang nni hindi ko man lang naisip yan…
beautiful! but i wonder what those small white roof-like structures seen below the structure.
hahaha… cute humour!
that’s a nice dream! why don’t you start na? my grandmother wrote an autobiography, by hand, which was encoded by my sister. it was a nice account…we now have an idea of how she lived and what life was like before. it was a nice read. so start ka na wits! 🙂
i’m already composing my post for your contest…inuna kko lang yung kay odette kasi the deadline is tomorrow na! he! he! MWAH!
that is good writing a book. I know that will be a good one ang a bestselletr 🙂
Thats good Wits. Why not do it na….Hand me a copy ha (for free)!!!
anu kayang mga scandals yun hahaha 😛
hmm…i want a copy of this…lol. i think it’s a great idea to trace your roots. i hope you’ll make this dream come true.
ohh, that’s a grand idea jo, but you can absolutely do that! just his week, i opened a friendster group account for our family as well, to keep in touch with my cousins and other relatives, just to keep that spirit of kinship alive despite our distance. i do hope you’d actually get to realize your dream soon!
thanks for joining!
great idea! go start writing about it wits. you can do it. pero sana share mo rin sa amin. naiintriga ako sa scandal eh. *lol*
Ako naman nonfiction ang dream ko; ung ang cover ay may hubad na machong macho hunk 🙂
Kidding aside, as early as I can remember I have been developing characters and plots, di nga lang matuloy tuloy. I’m sure I have written down some of my plotlines and character descriptions somewhere 🙂
I think that’s a very practical project that your descendants/clan will appreciate…an instant heirloom!
I’m curious, do they have Burj Al Arab postcards over there? 😛
Turn it into a reality!!! I’m sure your relatives and the future generations will greatly appreciate it! 😀
I suggest starting right away.
The Burj Dubai is a modern marvel of engineering it stands at 818 metres tall. The Burj Dubai will have its grand opening on the 1st of December this year.
