For someone who has not experienced four seasons, I am full of gratitude that I was able to witness both winter and spring in the UK. It has been a week since I returned to the still not so sunny UAE and as usual, I still have a hangover (do we really move on from trips?). The good news is that I have improved on timeliness of sorting of photos compared to last year’s US trip and other previous trips. While I wrote an overview of my first US trip, I decided to share some of my adventures and misadventures starting this July instead. In a sort of reminiscent way. After all, it was 4th of July when I first landed in the US territory.

We experienced the lovely yet notorious UK winter recently. While the main purpose of our trip was to receive my award/ attend my graduation ceremonies for the post-graduate degree, we did side trips within England and managed to experience Scotland. Since London became our sort of home base, starting from our little wandering before the New Year’s eve, the height of separation anxiety was associated mostly to this lovely city (and the highlands of Scotland!). On 24th February, I instagrammed one of my random wishes for the Spring break. Guess what? It is happening sooooon. We are flying to UK few hours from now. It will be a whirlwind trip though, hence, we decided to invest more time in Wales since we have never been there and of course, London as our entry and exit point. True to our home base principle. As the old saying and pop song go, “be careful what you wish for because you might just get it”.
