If you happen to be around Dubai Mall and craving for wall art, look no farther and head to Citywalk. We visited in December 2016 just because we were curious about this wall art with ‘I love Dubai’ inscribed on it. We realized that our less than an hour visit then was not enough; hence, we chanced upon dropping by again last weekend, few hours before we went to Guns N’ Roses concert. Lucky us because the annual 3D Art Dubai Canvas Festival was happening then.
By Ella Mundt. An artist who was born without her left hand. The information in the exhibit says, “This handicap has shaped her life. She feels that if her road hand’t been so bumpy, she couldn’t have felt the happiness she now feels when seeing forms and colors.” Quite inspiring.
I have a thing with bicycles. Hence, I find this interpretation of cycling over the tallest tower in the world, Burj Khalifa, extra meaningful. The artist Tomoteru ‘Tamo’ Saito was there during our photo taking and was advising some from the audience how to pose/ do the camera trick with the bicycle.
Here are my other favorites from the many 3D art instillations. I hope they kept some of these in Citywalk although the exhibit was over after 7th March.
In particular, the street art is showcased (some are sort of hidden) in Citywalk 2. Here are some of the artworks which seem to be permanently within the area. They are scattered everywhere — near the parking area, restaurants, high street, alley, and more.
At some point, walking in Citywalk reminded me of being in London.
Reminiscent of Oxford Street in London.
I also liked how they tried to keep the balance by having the cultural Arabic representations.
The Turkish ice cream sellers make fun of (in a nice way)/ tease the buyers. They even sing to draw more attention.
Burj Khalifa standing tall(est).
This kind of walk makes my feet happy.

This is the second wall art/mural post that I commented on today and it’s only 7:50 am here. I love the fact that many are now integrating wall murals as attractions even inside a mall.

We visited the murals in Bushwick (Brooklyn) on our last day in NYC before going to the airport. Yes, we like murals!
