4th of May
That means it has been a month since that most fun and craziest concert I have ever experienced so far.
All of them sounded better (and are more guapo) in person
The boys graciously delivered the show amidst the absence of Zayn Malik by taking turns to cover the (high) notes originally identified for Zayn and asked the audience to sing his part for Little Things. (My initial take was, of course, I wish he at least waited until they had their finale of On The Road Tour Again in Dubai before he officially decided to ‘live a normal life’. Zayn’s departure is indeed interesting, will make a good point of study in terms of decision making, business model, so forth.)
Liam responded to a fan sign asking if he is in good terms with Zayn
They are vocally strong as individuals and exhibit charisma of their own.
We have seen Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Coldplay, Linkin Park, Britney Spears, Prince, Kanye West, Incubus, Paul McCartney, Eraserheads and more — but so far the One Direction’s concert is the one that entailed so much patience, sacrifice, competitiveness, creativity, (name it!) and on the other hand I reiterate it is the most fun!
We were at the Sevens Stadium at 12:30 PM (that is almost 1.5-hour drive from Abu Dhabi) and not surprised that the earlier birds came at 8:00 AM. Take note that the concert gates opened at 4:00 PM and the boys started performing at 9:00 PM. Oh, I remember we queued at 5:30 AM to get the diamond tickets on the first day they went on sale. I recall queuing with other parents, including those who drove/flew from Oman and Qatar. Apparently, buying tickets online then had put most of the spectators at risk because most of the websites crashed on the first 3 hours and that the diamond tickets sold out on the first day.
Wild audience
Stephen Hawking has a hilarious grand theory about parallel One Direction when asked about Zayn’s departure. That earned him more popularity as a physicist and cosmologist.
It has been a month since that ‘best song ever finale’. The fireworks were a bonus.
While I went on the basis of parental duties, now that I thought of it again, the youth in me is very pleased that I had the excuse (or I did not need an excuse at all hahaha) to have aimed to be there. I am sure I am not alone.
You probably know what is in my playlist right now.
