I am probably one of those who was too late to appreciate seeing the face of Ed Sheeran. While his voice and singing style had marked on me the very first time I heard some of his songs over the radio, it was a different story when I first saw a music video of him. I told myself, “ugh, he’s ugly, he should have been part of the hobbit movie”. Hep! Do not kill me, please. I have poor eyesight.
Then, I watched him perform in Dubai last March. And I am taking back what I said. He is actually cute, rather, he is capable of transforming into a super pretty man when he performs.
He deserves all the attention, screaming and fan girling. I have been into several concerts in the past and this is one of the very few that I have seen the audience religiously joined the artist sing each word including the “ooohs” and “aaah” in all the songs. Further, kudos to him for all the efforts for this wonderful video of Thinking Out Loud. It was a surprise that some of the scenes in the video, which may be too explicit for the UAE’s taste, have not been censored.`
While we were strategically positioned, I wish though that I were a 6-foot human and had deaf-proofed my system so that my ‘competitors’ could have hardly distracted me. I did not expect that Ed Sheeran has the ability to capacitate the disabled to dance and stand strong and shake their tools instead (look at that photo)! Seriously, there was no amount of distraction that butchered my enjoyment.
He is an incredible performer that I did not want to blink even once to not miss any groove (he actually does haha!), strumming and humming.
He has amazing guitar skills.
Pareng Ed, you were and will always be worth the wait.

I must be the only one but I vaguely know him :). I’m sure the concert is fabulous.

I used to be so clueless about him (how he looks like and his name) until late last year. Then, I realized that I have been appreciating his music few years back but I just did not know his name. Yes, the concert was one of the best events ever held in the UAE.
