In January of 2009, I blogged about our visit to Betis Church (otherwise known as the Sistine Chapel of the Philippines) and Bacolor Church (popularly known for being half-buried and venue of the series May Bukas Pa, before it was televised). The visit was part of the December 2008 Ultimate Kapampangan Tour organized by Ultimate Philippines.
In this year’s April issue of Zest Air’s inflight magazine, one of my Betis Church photos has been featured (appearing on the first of the three-page article).
(Thanks to Tina Roxas, graphic artist of ZEST, for sending me the scanned copy.)
The Philippines is rich in historical structures and some of the plainly glorious churches are not really hidden, but are just waiting to be visited. You do not have to look too far, it has always been there to awe you.

i visited this church last year, i think, but it was closed so i was only able to take photos of the church’s exterior. i hope i’d get the chance to see the interior of this church next time i’m in Betis.
