(Thanks to everyone. I am learning a lot. Keep sharing. Let me know if your photo or avatar is unintentionally not in the collage. Sweet forgetfulness attacks me sometimes. Or maybe, I did not find any trace of your illustration in the web. I now realized how difficult it is to find a photo if a blogger is fully or partially anonymous. I’m one of them. Heehee.)
Few days before my birthday almost 2 years ago, I signed up for an account in another blogging platform. I thought it was a crazy idea to be adding another task to my super crazy schedule that time. I never thought that blogging would be a saving grace, and a larger portion of that was that I met good people online. While those that I personally know, I’ve learned to know more by following their blogs, too.
The benefit became too glaring when I went home for a vacation last December, that I didn’t have to tell much to catch up on lost times and information to a number of people. They were like, “we’re following your blog, we know the good and silly things you were doing while you’re away.” I don’t care much now how they learned about this site when I was blogging almost in full anonymity during the young phase of witsandnuts. Although I/we of course do not/should not blog about everything that happens to us (a little pinch of salt is obligatory to some extent), that was a strong testimony that blogging is one of the easier means to get in touch. Well, unless your circle is anti-modern technology.
So much for that sooo long introduction. A few of you probably know that this is my most favorite month. I will be turning a year older a dozen days from now. Though I occasionally have my lowest lows (who doesn’t have?), I always opt to dwell on the brighter side. You probably just don’t notice it, but life really gets better and more beautiful starting each time we wake up. It’s like having an accumulated balance of experiences since the day we were born and when we look back in a flash, all that we’ve got in life are actually all blessings. The hard times are also God’s graces to us in a different form.
In line with this, I am holding a blogoversary cum birthday contest. At stake would be a chance to ask a personal question + a full day meet up with me this December in the Philippines. Hahaha, of course I am kidding. The mission would be easy. Make someone you personally know AND a stranger (or not so stranger) happy (happier) or feel better. In what way? You’re the boss. Write about it and link back to this post. Please leave a comment to let us know that your entry is up. If you don’t have a blog, you may email your entry to witsandnuts (at) gmail (dot) com.
You may submit your entry on or before July 19, 2009, Sunday. The winner will be drawn via random.org. He/She will receive a free one year domain registration (be ready with your choice/name) and web hosting package OR USD 25 Threadless gift certificate.
Happiness is contagious. Spread it. 🙂
