If I am to name food spots inside Mall of the Emirates which are strategically situated, these would be St. Moritz and Costa cafes. Both are neighbor establishments of Ski Dubai. With Costa Cafe on second level (where we dined), with the other on the ground.
Whichever cafe you would go in, you will definitely be regaled by the sight of people charmingly chilling, chairlifting, having huge fun.
I think it’s a double take. In our case, we decided to have lunch before going in Ski Dubai. But if you’re a by-stander, chances are you’ll be encouraged to join in the breeze, too or dine in any of these cafes for a better view (and probably get photographed with this as background).
I think no one can resist taking snaps even while dining. You’ll notice that the ice setting reached the cafe. Yes, the snow isn’t real, but all these are pure ice. (I remember the styros in Snow World). Expect to chill.
I think the capitalists’ cost of investment is more recoverable at this point, since electricity is cheaper in this part of the world. Hence, they gave in to generous accessorizing and maintenance of ice. Who would have thought skiing would be possible in the Gulf?

The first time I told my collegues here in Amsterdam about the indoor ski resort in Dubai, they couldn’t believe it. Indeed, who would have thought that ski would be possible in Dubai.

It’s actually what Dubai is known for, no? Creating the impossible. Impressive. One of these days (cash-permitting), I hope to visit Ski Dubai.

I think this kind of set-up environment are popular in desert and tropical countries. Dito nga sa Pilipinas mayroon namang Icy World sa Star City–kung saan makaka-experience ang mga Pinoy ng North Pole weather–for 100 pesos per person π

I think Dubai is trying to bring the entire world to them. But I’m sure that’s one of the most popular spots to visit. Did you go in the ice world?

wow! looks grand and inviting! sarap naman “mag-chill” diyan. my son passed by, and he asked “saan yan mom, punta tayo!”. hehe…sige, bukas. π he went kasi sa snow world, real ice na siya. he went there twice kasi the first time nabitin sila kasi sobrang lamig daw inside hindi nila nakayanan. the second time, nagdala na sya ng extra “winter” gear.
