Training premise:
12noon to 130pm free lunch at Flavours Restaurant, Sheraton Hotel
2pm to 6pm, training in the same hotel
How cool is that? The first phase of the training came with a free overflowing buffet in a spacious setting that eases the tiredness and fulfills the hungry palate. The entire front of Flavours Restaurant is structured with a full ceiling to floor windows overlooking the pool, resort gardens and marine view as far as you can see.
Salad ala-witsandnuts.
I started with a salad composed of randomly picked foreign stuff, with a vinaigrette sauce of course. My experiment was quite a self-hit, except that I didn’t eat the dried tomato (the one next to the corn).
Clockwise: I enjoyed my picks for the main course: Shrimp curry, kebab, indian rice, and rosemary grilled chicken; japanese food; choco and blueberry mousse, rice pudding (tasted like ginataan); cakes and a tidbit of fresh sweet melon
The buffet were spread over a large area and there are food served ranging from oriental to persian, and other choices, which will cater anyone’s taste. Since I am a sweet toothie, I thoroughly enjoyed tasting almost all of the available desserts. Needless to say, I definitely enjoyed this buffet because it was like an avenue for my food experimentation. Well, how I wish most trainings would be like this, where pigging out comes in the first phase. Though a sleepy afternoon was sort of problem. You guessed so, I am still full during short break’s cocktail (oh, I forgot to take photos!). I loved the cookies.

Great timing, I was just thinking what I’ll cook this weekend – chicken curry =). Ooo, I’m a kebab fan especially lamb or beef. After a great looking meal like that, I’d be sleepy too =).

@Liptreatment: It was free for us. But this great buffet costs AED 120 (US$ 33).

@Kayni: The spicy shrimp curry was a surprise for me, I loved it. What I had was a beef kebab and I am still adjusting to the taste. Enjoy your chicken curry for the weekend!

I enjoyed exploring the desserts, the rice pudding was so Pinoy, only that it’s in a fancy little glass.
